The organ grinder and monkey have both been hand sculpted from puppen fimo, no moulds were used. They were inspired by a photograph in a history book and this helps to create such a lifelike appearance. Both are painted with artist acrylics and have been wigged using viscose.
The Organ Grinder is wearing checked trousers, matching waistcoat, cotton shirt, black coat, mock leather boots and scarf. The monkey is wearing a waistcoat, shorts and hat. All items of clothing are entirely hand sewn and made by us.
The plinth and organ are made from plywood. When you turn the handle it looks as though the organ grinder is turning the handle. The monkey claps his cymbals and stamps his feet. If you open the door of the organ you can see how it works! Obviously this piece would not fit into a dolls house but would be a collectors piece. It is 1/12th scale.
